On the Saturday morning the entrants gathered at the Speyer Technik Museum, home to the first Historiches Omnibus Europatreffen. Just before noon the hundred or so vintage buses and coaches headed out for Sinsheim via the town centre in Speyer.

Dwarfed by the huge wingspan and four engines of the Russian Antonov aircraft was this fearsome aggressive looking Kassbohrer Setra, AZ HG 69H.

Considerably cuter were this pair of small Setra S6s in contrasting liveries.

Cuter still was this tiny Opel Blitz lettered as the Kalsten Express.

A touch of chic was provided by this Parisien bus, now domicile in Germany and used to promote a local brew, Malteser Weissbier.
