Thames Valley Bristol SC4LK ECW S303
Bristol SC4LK S303 (NBL733) was one of four of these lightweight Bristols at Maidenhead for the 18 service to Marlow which crossed the frail Marlow suspension bridge. A variety of buses has been used on the service, but even a Transit minibus would be barred these days! The bus was originally numbered 776, then renumbered to fill the gap in the new letter and number system vacated by som short lived ex Crosville Bristol L buses.

Thames Valley Bristol SUS4A ECW 197
Southern National 613 (669COD) was one of a pair of Bristol SUS4As acquired in 1970, together with three similar machines from Bristol Omnibus. The bus became Thames Valley 197 seen here on route to Cookham, but the main reason for the acquisition was to replace the lightweight SC4LKs with a bus capable of getting over Marlow Bridge without it collapsing under the weight.

Wycombe Bus Company Leyland Olympian Alexander E229EFC
Olympian 229 (E229CFC) joined the Wycombe Bus fleet from Oxford, arriving in the colours of Thames Valley. The bus is on the 326 cross town service.

Carousel Thames Valley Olympian
Carousel also commemorated Thames Valley, painting L556 (H556GKX), one of several all Leyland Olympians acquired from Armchair off London contract work, in Thames Valley livery. This early morning shot has the bus in Marlow on a Bucks school run to Wycombe (service 922).
