An interesting selection of half cab doubledeckers backed on to the Leyland National
line up. Seen here from the left are a Northampton Transport Damiler CVG6/Roe,
an Edinburgh Titan PD3 with Alexander body - which won the prize for the best
such bodied bus at the show - and a Wigan Titan PD2. The Embling buses can be seen
next in line.

The actual buses expected from local company Emblings changed a bit at the last
minute, but the line up of three very tidy Bristol VRs and a Willowbrook rebodied
Leyland Leopard (ex Oxford) was impressive as the fleet is well cared for.

The three VRs in close up. Behind and to the left is Stagecoach East's open top
Bristol Lodekka FLF now repainted in the new Stagecoach livery after appearing
at last year's SHOWBUS in the Golden Jubilee version. |

The vehicles spreading along the line up after the Emblings fleet included examples
from the smart PPH coach company and assorted Atlantean doubledeckers. The end
bus, an Alexander bodied Southport example, won the prize for the best seventies
doubledecker.

D415, a CIE Atlantean that served in Dublin is seen arriving at Duxford. The bus
was bodied in CIE's own workshops and has spent recent years in Milton Keynes
though was brought to SHOWBUS by a group over from Eire. Unfortunately a few
minutes later the bus broke down and will be noted in earlier views out of line.
Whatever ailed it was fairly terminal and the bus had to stay at Duxford overnight. |
