The Optare Alero made its first appearance at EFE SHOWBUS International
this year. The low entry, easy access, 16 seater is building a name for itself
on rural services, dial a ride and welfare work. |

The Optare contingent arrived on Saturday evening and parked up ready for Sunday
morning. In the long standing silver and blue demonstration livery, worn by many
Optare buses over the years are a Solo and Excel 2. On the end is a NABI 30LFN,
the American version of the Solo. This left hand drive model was finished in base
white. On the Monday it was off to Southampton Docks for the voyage to Miami
for service with Metro-Dade where it would gain mauve and jade vinyls to complete
its appearance.

The rear views of the Optare larger vehicles. The contrast between the UK Solo
and NABI 30LFN is interesting. The American bus works out longer overall. |
  |
Miami Dade 03356. Note the sensibly front mounted bicycle rack - so easy to control
and observe from the driver's seat, a fairly standard and much used US fitting. |
  |
A better view of the NABI rear. The American bound bus faces Eastern Block
military vehicles parked against the Land Warfare Hall! |

The Optare line-up on the Sunday which greeted the entries by Parking Reception. |

The vehicles are admired by SHOWBUS visitors.
