Bristols or Leylands? With the stronger claim to being a Bristol olympian is the B45 designate chassis of the fifth Olympian prototype bodied by Northern Counties for GMPTE as 1451 (NJA588W) in the Machester fleet. There was some initial talk of the VR/Atlantean/Fleetline replacement being badged as a Bristol. What became Bristol Omnibus 9552 (A954SAE) has chassis number 945 and was one of the last Olympians to be built at the Brislington plant in Bristol before production was transferred to the erstwhile Leyland National plant in Workington. The bus has acquired a Bristol scroll badge.

A mixed line up of Leylands, plus an erstwhile Alder Valley Duple 425. Nearest the camera are Titans, both ex London, one from the Whippet and the other preserved.

The display of Titans was more than apparent from the picture above, and also included T1 (THX101S) at the other end of the site. Here we see Cambridgeshire Constabulary's mobile police station, as modelled by EFE, alongside is Woottens ex Oxford (and London) Titan, then another ex London bus with Nu-Venture, which was later deployed on the site shuttle, and then Whippet's.

Many Olympians were exported to Hong Kong and some have been reimported in recent years. Stagecoach brought back several to launch its megabus operation and a number were open topped for London sightseeing, but othersm like Patro's BIG8385, have found a new life transporting large numbers of school children.
