EFE SHOWBUS International
Gold Run

The number of vehicles participating is limited to 50, but they will be heading to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford where they are expected to be joined by up to 400 more buses and coaches of all ages and colours.

The vehicles will start from Cambridge's Trumpington Park & Ride site on the west side of the city and close to Junction 11 on the M11. They are expected to arrive there from around 10.00am onwards from all over the country. The parade is expected to leave around 11.15am under police motorcycle escort and is destined to arrive at the Imperial War Museum site at around 11.45am. These details will be confirmed nearer the time.

On arrival at the site the procession will pause until entry formalities have been completed, the main runway will then be closed to allow the buses to travel airside to the Jubilee display area on hardstanding adjacent to the M11. The buses will then be on display together at Duxford for the afternoon.

A map of the route will be displayed later, but the procession will go via Shelford, Stapleford and Sawston.

Most buses will be bearing special liveries to mark the Golden Jubilee but other gold painted buses and coaches may join them. If insufficient gold vehicles are available, buses and coaches built in 1952 will be invited to join in and finally vehicles suitably decorated for the occasion.
