Ballarat Duncan and Fraser Tram 38
Duncan & Fraser 38 is another Prahran & Malvern/MMTB tram. It dates from 1914 and was classified E by the MMTB where it retained its P&M number, 41. The tram did not arrive in Ballarat until 1951 after over thirty years in service in the state capital.

A second view of 38 when the sun put in an appearance. The car had been parked out in front of the depot, usually all the cars are hidden inside when the Museum is not open to the public.

Sister car 39, former P&M/MMTB 42, has been converted into a museum display and souvenir centre located in the depot.

Melbourne Class W3 Tram 661
With so many Ballarat tram having a Melbourne heritage it is unsurprising to find a "pure" Melbourne tram amongst the Museum's collection. This 1932 example, 661, is one of sixteen Class W3 cars built by MMTB between 1930 and 1934. This was the first class of Melbourne drop centre tram to have all steel framing. The Museum acquired the tram from the MMTB in 1975.
