The first deliveries to the new Grand River Transit authority were eight New Flyer D40LF buses, 2200-2207 across 2001 and 2002, probably ordered by Kitchener Transit. In 2003 a batch of thirty Orion VII buses joined the fleet, Cambridge Transit's model of choice. From then on, until 2013, it was only NovaBuses. Orion VII 2321 is seen out in service on route 3.
