At SHOWBUS 2002 alongside the fleet of newly acquired First liveried Volvo B12M coaches for "ecxel" services were these two older stagers: Leyland National Greenway 687 (NIL3957), former LN588 (WAH588S), and Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian 60 (G128YEV) new to Ensignbus.

First Eastern Counties Dennis Dart Wright Handybus 365
At Millennium Showbus was this former Centrewest Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Dart, former DW98 (JDZ2398), in the new, but shortly lived, Essex Buses yellow and red livery. The bus had been transferred to First Essex as 864 in 1999, but very quickly transferred to Eastern Counties as 365. Alongside is another Wright bodied vehicle from the First Provincial fleet in a rather intense all over advert livery.

First Eastern Counties Leyland National 2 driver trainer 9503
Another refugee from London is this Leyland National 2, 9503 (GUW503W), clearly used for driver training duties. New for Red Arrow work in 1991 the bus, LS503, was converted to singledoor and transferred to Uxbridge to work the 607 Express to Shepherds Bush. In 1992 it was re-registered with RMC plate 503CLT and in 1994 ownership passed to Centrewest who fitted it with a Volvo engine that year. It was withdrawn from the 607 in 1996 and painted in these colours the following year, transferring to Eastern Counties in 1999.
