First acquired Centrewest from London Transport and added to its operations by acquiring Capital Citybus, which had its origins in Ensignbus' original London routes. Capital's interim ownership had interests from Hong Kong Citybus, later owned by Stagecoach. With Centrewest came the operations of London's first independent contractor, London Buslines, Bee Line's Slough and Bracknell operations and the isolated tender operation Centrewest had commenced under the fleetname Orpington Buses. The latter was subsequently disposed of to Go-Ahead's Metrobus subsidiary.
