The excel decker was displayed alongside First Lanarkshire Express Plaxton Premier bodied Volvo B10M 20507 (AO02RCY), which had been transferred north and returned to familiar territory for a day trip to SHOWBUS. The coach, as we have seen, was displayed with excel branding at SHOWBUS 2002 when numbered 208. |

In late 2013 a fleet of 22 Alexander Dennis Enviro400 took over the excel routes. Seating only 67 these buses brought a new standard to the network, bith inside and out. Under Giles Fearnley's leadership, the individual First Group companies were beginning to break free from the shackles of corporate identity and First logos were discretely applied on this new blue based livery. This is 33813 (YX63LKA) arriving for SHOWBUS international 2014.
