A better view of Swift 4 at SHOWBUS 2001. For such a small operation, the specification of dual door bodywork was surprising. Whilst the local ECW bodywork was an obvious choice, the unhappy AEC Swift chassis made for an unusual combination. Lowestoft perhaps expected the reliability and longevity of its AEC Regents being passed on to the AEC Swift. |

AEC Swift 16 (GRT865J) is seen at work in the town when about ten years old. In all Ipswich bought ten ECW bodied Swifts between 1969 and 1973, the last two being sold to join the 33 similar models, 21 with Willowbrook bodies, in the neighbouring Great Yarmouth fleet.
