 The Gold InterCity brand was introduced with plusher seating and extra legroom and the now customary free wifi. This new Kiwi bodied Scania K440EB, Ritchies 999 (KGN210) was seen laying over in Kilbirnie, Wellington in November 2017.

 The Gold branding is missing across the front of 539 (GZW686) a 2006 Kiwi bodied Scania K124IB seen passing Tirau's latest landmark, the Big Ram shed, which joined the Big Sheep Wool Shop and Big Dog Visitors Centre the previous year in 2016. The chassis of 539 was scrapped the following year in 2018 and the body mounted on a new K440EB chassis, the vehicle reincarnated as 539 (LPJ716).
