Acquired to replace a Leyland Tiger on the Bicester service is this former Eastbourne Dennis Javelin. The bus was ousted at Eastbourne by the arrival of Reading's ex Cardiff Optare Excels! It is seen here being fuelled at Keith Garages in Aylesbury prior to the 1630 departure for Bicester. |
The Javelin is seen in Market Square Aylesbury, with the impressive Law Courts behind. The bus is on route to Bicester now painted in Red Rose colours. |
Seen attending the 1997 Crowthorne event alongside RT3496 (LYR915) is Red Rose's Willowbrook Warrior Bedford YMT rebody, Q956UOE. Both buses purport to show blinds for the same route between Aylesbury and Watford.
|
Another view of a bus enthusiast with Q956UOE. Sadly the vehicle was destroyed by fire at the Aylesbury depot - particularly lamentable as it was a reliable workhorse. Along with it went an ex Northumbria Leyland National 2 (A128FDC) of which the same could not be said!
