Devon General AEC Regent V MCW 765
Red Rover 109 (ROD765) was an ex Devon General MCW bodied AEC Regent V new in 1956 as DR765. Despite the similarities it did get repainted in Red Rover livery. Its registration earned it the affectionate nickname "Rodney" amongst the Red Rover staff. I have fond memories of driving it with Traffic manager, Chris Day, on the platform on route 15 to Calvert one foggy evening towrds the end of its Red Rover days, and struggling at a T-junction near Quainton Station which had loomed prematurely out of the mists. It was seen some years after leaving Aylesbury north of Bicester, possibly as a mobile home. It later passed to a preservationist in West Yorkshire, but has now returned to where it belongs: Devon. Seen here back in Devon General livery as 765 on Dawlish seafront on a local running day in June 2015.
