Red Rover AEC Renown Weymann 127 & Leyland National 161
AEC Renown 127 is parked in the yard alongside Red Rover's newly arrived last Leyland National, 161. Contrastingly this was London Transport's first - LS1 (TGY161M). Red Rover's first ex London DMS, 140 (MLK419L), is out of service beyond.

Red Rover AEC Renown Weymann Brill windmill & 127
Late in 1987 Renown 127 had the dubious honour of performing the last ever Red Rover service. It is seen around 2300h in Luton Bus Station on the final 61 run across Dunstable Downs to Aylesbury with Traffic Manager, Chris Day, at the wheel. The operation was taken over by employee owned Luton & District, who retained the name Red Rover for a while before morphing into the Shires, then Arriva serving the shires. Renown 127 was transferred to Luton for use as a driver trainer with the longer term intention of preserving the vehicle, but the nature of the work resulted in it being damaged beyond repair.
