Portsmouth City 124 (STP996) a 64 seat Metro-Cammell bodied Leyland Titan PD3/6 leaves Reading Bus Station on hire to Alder Valley. |
ALDER VALLEY |
Perhaps the most unusual vehicles to help out were Valliant Silverline's Roe bodied Leyland Atlanteans bought for use by TWA on their city to airport link service. Atlantean VYH46G is seen in Maidenhead Bus Station. |
ALDER VALLEY |
The same bus leaving Maidenhead (with the rear of a Bristol LH6L on the right) affords a good view of its unusual panoramic windowed Roe body. |
ALDER VALLEY |
Alder Valley's ever recurring vehicle shortages resulted in this Maidstone Corporation Massey bodied Leyland Titan PD2A 17 (517RKR) seen lined up with native RELL6L 479 (EBL438K) and National 120 (KCG620L) in Reading's Thorn Walk depot. Bristol RE 479 was amongst the last buses delivered to Thames Valley and was numbered directly into the Alder Valley series, the bus was originally intended to be Southdown 606.
