VR 935 is seen at Southsea alongside a Bournemouth Leyland Titan. Alder Valley 935 (MPM390P) is in an advertising livery for Radio 210. |
The same bus is seen here when relatively new alongside Mark I VR 913 (VMO231H) and a Mark II VR, probably 926. Note that 935 is the 13' 5" height model, whereas the Mark II is 13' 8" and the white band continues above its windscreen. Note also that 935 is minus a fleet number plate and the numerals are in Thames Valley's style. |
Sister vehicle 936 (MPM931R) is from a batch of two. The destination is blandly Windsor, with no route number, but the bus is seen approaching from Dedworth. |
Delivered new to Aldershot depot is this VR, 930 (HPK507N). It was coach seated for express services to London, later marketed as Londonlink. The bus is seen at a Hillingdon Showbus.

VR 619 (GGM89W) was part of a delivery of around 40 VRs, including 24 diverted from Maidstone & District to help overcome Alder Valley's acute vehicle shortage. The Duple bodied coach behind is believed to be one drafted in from Southdown to assist. VR 619 is newly arrived from Lowestoft at Reading depot. |
