Thames Valley 546 (FMO21) was a Windover bodied Bristol L6B. The bus entered service in cream livery with green markings in 1950, but was later repainted into what amounts to Thames Valley bus livery. The bus was one of a number rebodied in 1958 with full front ECW bus bodywork as 817. Examples of the converted buses can be seen in the 'sold out of service' gallery subsection. Not only was the chassis rebodied, it was extended to LL standard and re-engined with a five cylinder Gardner engine, effectively becoming a Bristol LL5G. |

This Bristol LWL is seen in Thames Valley's Wycombe Marsh depot.

Hillingdon Showbuses were a time for Alder Valley and Thames Valley buses to come together, particulalry to pose for photos at the end of the weekend. Here K6A 446 (DBL154) is seen with Thames Valley LWL6B 616 (GJB254), one of the first three RELL6G, S306 (CBL355B), now 401, a new coach seated VRTSL3, 930 (HPK507N) and an Alder Valley liveried Dennis Loline, originally Aldershot & District 525 (AAA525C), now 852. |

The Bristol K6A is excluded in this second view. The VR had an intersting later life. It did gain NBC dual purpose colours, but post privatisation became an open topper with Alder Valley South, but spending most of its new life with Shoreline Suncruisers on Scarborough seafront for fifteen years. It later passed to the Viadux nightclub in Manchester. |
