In August 2019 in Uxbridge again for an unusual sight. Carousel operate several routes into the town from High Wycombe, ususally with Mercedes Citaro and Wright Streetlites. Occasionally a doubledecker, normally used on Wycombe town and school runs escapes to Uxbridge. New to fellow Go-Ahead subsidiary Oxford Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD 218 (GF10OXF) is seen passing Abellio's Enviro200MMC 8883 (SN17MPF) on layover in York Road where Carousel bus services are banished to. Tfl gives the only cursory mention on its bus directories at bus stops in the town. In similar action, when Carousel had the A40 service which extended to Heathrow it was not allowed to carry intermediate passengers between Uxbridge and the airport. With metropolitan areas becomin franchised operations we are likely to see more of these unhelpful dictats by so called integrated transport authorities, or should they be called fiefdoms?

The 490 goes from Richmond to Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Sister 8835 (YY64YJS) is headed in the opposite direction to T5. Awkwardly both buses serve adjacent stops in the Bus Station so passengers need to keep their wits about them to ensure they do not head off in the wrong direction.
