New to Grey-Green, VA157 (H157XVU) became one of the less common types to be painted in Golden Jubilee livery. It is seen with the buses which took part in the SHOWBUS Gold Run at Duxford in 2002.
Strictly speaking the gold RT which featured prominently in the Golden Jubilee celebrations belongs to the London Transport Covent Garden Museum, which is where it is seen. The bus was taking part in an Arriva event at the Museum on June 14th 2003. Since the previous year it had lost its 'Transport for London" fleetnames in favour of Arriva and the white band had become purple, along with purple fleet numbers: RT4712 (NXP997).
New to Kentish Bus when it was owned by Northumbria was L516 (G516GBB) which explains its Newcastle registration. When Proudmutual, the Northumbria holding company, passed into Arriva hands, the Kentish Bus Northern Counties bodied Olympians joined Arriva's London operations. Seen in summer 2004, 516 had subsequently joined the training fleet, hence the white and grey colours in which it is seen in the Aldwych.
