Once part of London Country, County became a London component of Arriva, trading as Arriva serving East Herts & Essex and administered by Arriva serving the Shires, based at Luton. Both companies moved on to using Arriva serving the Shires & Essex as a trading name, or, more simply, Arriva.

A reversion of Green Line style, perhaps? Back to the bus oriented RF and National era, following a generation or two of coach bodied Tigers and B10Ms. Arriva subsidiary County chose low-floor DAFs with new Plaxton (Northern Counties designed) Prestige bodies, ample luggage space and comfort seating for the arduous North London orbital service 724 to Heathrow, where R206VPU is seen. |
A sister vehicle from the same batch is seen at Watford Junction Station one Saturday before Christmas 1998. The DAFs were replaced by Mercedes Citaros in 2006.
