Not strictly a member, or former member, of the current London General fleet, but K502 used to run for London General Omnibus Company and is seen at Showbus in Woburn Abbey days. The stereotypical vintage London bus was used as a logo by the London General division created from the latterday London Transport. This marvellous early AEC is now owned by Barry Weathered, whose home is fortuitously closely to Woburn.

During the days at Woburn Abbey, when the display was sponsored by Hefac, distributors of Webasto Heaters, the opportunity was taken to produce a full colour poster to advertise the event and four buses were posed in front of the Abbey one Saturday. They comprised Barry's K, Red Rover's DMS 140 (MLK419L), Hefac's mobile exhibition unit based on an ex Newcastle Alexander bodied Leyland Panther and a Club Cantabrica Jonckheere bodied coach. Several pictures were taken before the best was chosen.

The pictures have been cropped to focus on K502, but if you click on the images you can see the whole pictures.

It can be seen that the weather was typical for SHOWBUS and the printers manipulated the final picture to provide a suitably blue sky!

In getting the right vehicle arrangement some of the vehicles did cut into the grass, which did not make us popular with the Abbey authorities! If you click on this picture you will see the photo chosen for the poster.
