Green Line Volvo/Plaxton M721KFO
The 747 is a long established airport service, with a very evocative route number. The route has varied a bit over the years, but like the Flightline service illustrated above at Victoria, it was operated by Airlinks and linked Stanstead and Gatwick. This time the link is via a westerly loop to include Heathrow. The service also stretched beyond Gatwick to Brighton. This Premier Travel bodied B10M is seen at Hemel Hempstead Bus Station, heading south for Heathrow and beyond.

Green Line Volvo/Plaxton Paramount Stanstead-Gatwick
Volvo B814BPG belonged to Speedlink, when this photo was taken. The company was later renamed Airlinks. It was a subsidiary of National Express and heavily involved in link services to the nation's airports. This Volvo B10M/Plaxton Paramount 3500 is seen on a service which links two airports - Stanstead and Gatwick - with Central London, hence it is seen at Victoria Coach Station.

Magpie Travel Mercedes K5JFS
Perhaps the most unusual vehicle to wear Green Line livery is this Autobus Classique bodied Mercedes 811, formerly with J Fishwick & Son, but seen with Magpie Travel of High Wycombe, who have took over the operation of the 290 group of services once operated jointly between Oxford and Luton & District to London. The vehicle is resting at Magpie's Cryers Hill depot one Sunday. The bus' rear acts as a good promotional device. The Magpie fleet was exclusively minibus at the time. Operation of the 290 service to London has ceased since. Remnants survive as Red Rose 275 between Wycombe and Oxford and Arriva 74 between Wycombe and Beaconsfield or Carousel's A40/740 on to Uxbridge.
