Western Greyhound Mercedes Vario Plaxton Beaver 2 518
Bowling along the highway to St Neots in 2005 is O810D 518 (S18RED) which came, with the convenient registration number, from Nuttalls of Pentwortham. A number of Vario/Beavers was acquired secondhand, particularly when European disabled access legislation was threatening the availability of the Vario/Beaver combination in the future. Western Greyhound had particular concerns too about the suitability of low floor buses in Cornwall's narrow lanes - where bus stops rarely had kerbs, let alone Kassel kerbs.

Western Greyhound Optare Solo 954
Eventually Western Greyhound embraced the more expensive and fuel thirsty low floor buses and a number of Optare Solos joined the fleet like 954 (YJ06FZL), which came from Wilsons of Rhu, seen here in Exeter Bus Station in August 2013.
