Cardiff's small oddball batch of Alexander Strider bodied Scania N113CRB chassis has been given a new purpose in life. Scania 289 (L289ETG), on display outside City Hall at the Centenary Rally, had been painted blue and lettered for the Airbus service linking the city with its somewhat distant airport.

From a different era another Alexander body on preserved AEC Swift 512 (MBO512F), which was one of twenty bought in 1968 (506-525). Like many AEC Swifts they enjoyed but brief lives with their initial owners and attracted few buyers on the secondhand market. Preserved 512 is seen at Barry Island in June 2013 in use on the shuttle service to the Barry Island Bus Museum.

Complementing its Dart purchases, Cardiff bought a large batch of Enviro300s. Here 712 (CN04NRK) is seen leaving Cardiff Bus Station in 2005, doubtless returning off service to Sloper Road depot.

Sister vehicle 713 arrived at Showbus in September that year. Earlier members of the batch replaced the Strider Scanias in blue livery on the airport service.

Cardiff 111 (D111LTG) was an early Mercedes L608D series conversion. The body is by PMT but was built for Cardiff and not operated in the Midlands. It is seen outside Cardiff Station.
