The Plaxton Pointer body originated with the manufacturer's Reeve Burgess subsidiary. It was adapted for the low floor Dart SLF in the version seen on the right for Scarborough & District's 264 (P264NRH). Ogle assisted in a redesign of the body to produce Pointer 2 as seen on 304 (T304NRH). Both buses were seen together in Scarborough in April 2007.

With the Plaxton factory in Scarborough the popularity of the local produce with Scarborough & District is not surprising. This line up of Darts at Scarborough Station is headed by the popular short Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) model, 476 (W476UAG).

At the other end of the line up was MPD 474 (W474UAG).

A large Dart SLF, 306 (T306JRH), is seen on Scarborough Park & Ride duties.

Plaxtons did not reign supreme in the elite panorama of Scarborough. Dart SLF 318 (S789NRV) has the short lived Caetano Compass body. The body design was developed by Wadham Stringer/UVG and adapted for the low floor Dart SLF before being replaced by the Caetano designed Nimbus design. Scarborough & District 318 was new to Frodingham Coaches in 1999, a company acquired by EYMS two years later, which is how the renegade got to join the Plaxton pack.
