Sydney based occasional contributor, Matt Buytaert, is on a motorbike touring holiday of Laos, via Thailand and Cambodia and has sent in some pictures on route. For this week's picture we have selected the coach for his overnight ride from Thakhek to Pakse. The coach was packed to the gunnels, the full length luggage rack, covered in tarpaulin, was completely loaded as were the side lockers, but the last rows of seats were also covered in luggage and a scooter was on tow behind! If they have tilt test requirements or axle weight limits in Laos it might struggle to meet them. The manufacture of the coach is unknown, but the bodywork is probably local. Bright exterior lights are topped off by luminous green Michelin men atop the wing mirrors! Interior decor included seat coverings that resembled a boudoir, but unfortunately the interior did not smell anything like that! On a previous long distance coach trip th coach was invaded by food sellers tauting - amongst other things - several ready cooked whole chickens! A mock Neoplan Skyliner decker, looking a little more inviting was also at the Thakhek terminal bound for Vietnam.
