Whatever happened to the LDV Maxus? LDV was a joint venture between DAF Trucks and the Rover group. When the latter collapsed it was rescued by the Russian GAZ group, but that too failed. The assets were eventually bought by SAIC, China's biggest car manufacturer, who have salvaged the final offering, the Maxus. Not only selling well in China they are now exporting and this factory built "V80 Minibus 14" is one of around forty in the fleet of Ritchie's Transport in New Zealand. The eleven seater, 945 (KYG688), is seen on the forecourt of their Albany depot last month.
