Wide Bay Transit Dennis Dart SLF NCBC 52
This week we have caught up with a fascinating vehicle first recorded on this site after being spotted in Maryborough in August 2009 when it was approaching eleven years old. As can be seen, minus its rego, 996EEU, the bus has reached the end of its days. The contradictions are the big Scania badge front and centre and the Dart SLF badge tothe left. Back in the late nineties Scania were acting as import agents to Australia on behalf of Dennis, which explains the dual personality. Bodywork is by North Coast Bus & Coach (NCBC). Still bearing fleet number 52 the Dart is awaiting its fate with a couple of other early retirees in the Hervey Bay yard of Wide Bay Transit in Queensland. If you check our Wide Bay gallery you will find several images of the 2009 fleet which included Leyland Lynx and PMC bodied Leyland B21 (National subframe) buses. The company has gone on to favour Denning products with an impressive collection of bus and coach models, with some twenty "Phoenix Silver" coaches deployed daily on school contracts.
We have thousands of pictures to choose from for our Picture of the Week but you are welcome to send in your own. If we do not feature it here, it may appear later in our picture gallery.
Ideally pictures should be 732 pixels wide and no more than 100kB.
