Melbourne Class W2 tram 411
Here 411 is seen later that day on the streets of Christchurch. The terminal building, which is also a shopping arcade, as well as the tracks suffered damage from the major earthquake in 2011. The trams are running again and new track has enabled the ride to be extended.

Auckland tram 257
A little later 257 was resting in the tramshed.

Auckland tram 257
Car 257 again the same day. Sadly another visit in 2017 found the operation suspended while major construction was taking place in the area, but it looks like the trams will run once the works are completed.

Auckland tram 258
Sister vehicle 258 was in the tramshed. This tram has since left New Zealand and returned to the Bendigo Tramways Museum from where it came, though it was was built as 421 as a member of the Melbourne W2 class in 1927. Replacing 258 was ex Yarra Trams SW6 class 881. Car 257 was also built in Melbourne's Preston workshops as their 466. During the line closure 257 had a major body overhaul during 2017-2018 and has regained its X1 class number of 466.
