The interior of Enviro500 8072 with blue seats and yellow stanchions - not quite the same degree of sophistication as achieved on the Enviro500 deckers with Go Transit, but more than adequate for the job.

Enviro500 8070 seen on a wet morning from the top deck of 8072. After the bus had dropped most of its assengers in the CBD I settled into the top deck offside seat to enjoy the rest of the ride, not sure exactly where the bus was headed. It called at Bayview briefly then powered on back towars the city. It eventually dawned on me that the bus was running dead back to the depot.

Here is the new depot built near St Laurent and primarily to house the doubledeck the . One of the bonuses that the Enviro500 offers over an articulated bus is that it takes up less depot space, as well as not needing maintenance to a turntable. Which ever way OC Transpo used it, it either built a smaller depot for its expanding the or it was able to fit more buses into the space. Enviro500 8023 heads up this impressive line of deckers, which would now rest until around 1500h for the start of the evening rush hour.

The lead bus in this line of four Enviro500 buses is 8023 and 8053 is readily identifiable as the bus behind. Across the yard is New Flyer Invero 4519 - the depot is not exclusively for doubledeckers.

Getting back to downtown Ottawa was not as easy and involved a longish wait in the rain for a local bus to take me to St Laurent Centre where busway transit to the CBD was fast and frequent courtesy of the articulated fleet. Whilst waiting outside the depot Enviro500 8069 returned to base, its morning work done, the "Have A Nice Day" message not fitting with the prevailing weather conditions.
