This was one of only ten Leyland Titans delivered to Greater Manchester PTE. Originally 4010 (GNF10V) these singledoor buses did not last long up north. Some passed into Stagecoach ownership via South Midland. Titan GNF10V ended its Stagecoach days in Gloucester aircraft blue, but it is seen here with a subsequent unidentified owner - believed to be from west London - on a Buckinghamshire school contract in High Wycombe in December 2002.

Making an interesting contrast is this early Roe bodied Olympian, originally Bristol 9533 (NTC132Y). The Optare design on the Cambus Olympian bus was based on the original Roe product and built in the same factory in Leeds. Still in Stagecoach stripes, but now Stagecoach 14294, the Olympian is seen in service in Gloucester in May 2005.

This bus has had an interesting career. New as a dual door VR for the Bristol City fleet as 5030 (JOU160P) in NBC green, the bus passed to Cheltenham District and was painted in NBC red. The bus, 5030, was altered to single door in 1988. It received Diamond jubilee livery, the following year recalling the Cheltenham Tramways colours. It acquired the red and ivory "Starsky & Hutch" Cheltenham livery in 1993. When 5030 left Cheltenham in 2000 for Hampshire Bus, it was the oldest VR in that Stagecoach fleet. It is seen here at Millennium Showbus when already with Stagecoach Hampshire Bus at Winchester. The bus later returned to Cheltenham in 2014 and is kept in the old Cheltenham livery it received in 1989.
