Turkish built BMC buses are of course very popular in the country. The company was founded by its namesake in the UK (the British Motor Corporation) in the sixties, but became a separate Turkish entity in 1989. Ozel Halk Otobus appears to be a contractor to IETT and provides bus services in various parts of the country. The BMC Belde model is a high floor singledecker A081, one of many in use during the October 2008 visit to Istanbul.

The Valens Aqueduct in the centre of Istanbul is a great backdrop to vehicles passing under it like Ozel Halk's BMC Belde A184.

We look down on Belde A136.

The bus is seen a couple of hours later in Taksim Square.
