The extent of First's operations in the United States is often overlooked from the UK and probably not that obvious to Americans. Besides the high profile Greyhound operation, and the less high profile, but equally widespread First Student services large numbers of American "municipal" operations are managed discreetly by First Transit. Less discreet is the First Transit branding on the town service network provided in Washington, PA. This is a very small set up though, dwarfed by the Paratransit operation, for example, in nearby Pittsburgh. This Ford bus is seen in Washington in July 2010. |
In nearby Greensburg to the south of Pittsburg, First Student is responsible for some of the school transport. This International, SS2, is in an unusual livery for the "Seton Shuttle". |
Another school bus to bear the First Student brand in the Greensburg yard was this small Ford, lettered V14. For some reason the Greensburg fleet is not numbered into the national scheme. |
Another school bus provider was sharing the Greensburg yard back in July 2010. This pair of buses, Bluebird A91 and International C73, belongs to A J Myers & Sons. |
