Valley Metro Gillig Phantom
A rather surreal image results as this advert wrapped Gilling Phantom is passed by a truck, almost making the truck look like it has a wrap of the bus on its side panel. It is seen outside the imposing Lindsly-Robinson & Co building in August 2010.

Valley Metro trolley
Valley Metro's Star Line Trolley provides a free service on a downtown loop with frequency up to every ten minutes Monday to Friday.

Valley Metro Gillig Phantom 436
Roanoke is also home to the Commonwealth Coach & Trolley Museum, which unsurprisingly has a number of Valley Metro survivors, including the inevitable Phantom. Gillig 436 of 1991 bears the insignia of Commonwealth Coach & Trolley on its front dash.

Valley Metro General Motors TDH-3714 102
Inside the Museum awaiting restoration with a large collection of vehicles, mainly with local connections, was former 102, a General Motors TCH-3714, of 1958. The bus was new to the Safety Motor Transit Company, the predecessor of Valley Metro.

Safety Mack C41 319
In the museum yard was this restored Mack C41, formerly 319 Safety 319. It seems the Safety livery may have inspired that of the Star Line Trolley service.
