Around 2009 Bucks County Council adopted "Rainbow Routes" colour branded networks in Aylesbury and High Wycombe supported by Arriva, Carousel in Wycombe and Redline in Aylesbury. Several Wycombe Scanias were painted dark blue for route 32, whilst new Volvo B7RLE uses carried green route branding on Arriva livery and Dart SLF buses were red route branded. Two new Optare Versas arrived in orange for another route. Scania 3203 was one such bus, seen on layover in Wycombe Bus Station in July 2009.

In Decemeber 2010 3203 is seen again, but at Reading Stations, a long way from High Wycombe. Its route branding already partially obscured by an advert.

Some of the East Lancs European Scanias were also blue route branded like 3146 (N696EUR), correctly on the 32 in May 2009.

However that did not last and 3146 is seen bewildering the citizens of Slough on route 74 in October 2010. Eventually Arriva gave up with rainbow route branding around the time it lost the orange route to Carousel who, until 2016, managed to keep its two orange buses regularly plying the 39.
