Departing Aylesbury Bus Station having worked in on a 260 from Thame is one of The Shires' few Leyland Lynxes. They had bought two batches, totalling nine vehicles as new. One batch was used on the Luton Station-Luton Airport 'Flyer' service. Since then a further seven arrived, including two from Motts Yellow Bus and two from Atlas Bus of Edgware. Motts' were also Atlas originals) and a further three from Sovereign as a result of route exchanges in the Stevenage area.

Former Crosville Cymru National Greenway 3045 (IIL4822) travels from the Aylesbury Rabans Lane depot to take up service to Thame.

The Shires Scania L113CRL East Lancs European
Pulling into Aylebury's Market Square is one of a new batch of East Lancs European bodied Scania L113CRL buses, route branded for the 500 service between Aylesbury and Watford. The route is the immediate successor to London Transport's 301, which used to be worked from Hemel Hempstead depot. United Counties' Aylesbury operations, which formed part of Luton & District (the Shires) took over responsibility for the route.
