Alder Valley AEC Reliances
Reliances 543 & 545 (MOR581 & 583) in the Aldershot & District fleet became consecutively numbered as Alder Valley 347 & 348. They were new in 1954 as A&D 250 & 252 with Strachan coach bodies but were rebodied by MCW as buses in 1967. Alder Valley 348 had gained the new NBC livery.

AEC 343 (HHO539E) was near identical to the two Reliances above, but it was built on a new AEC Reliance chassis in 1967 as A&D 539. It is seen in Aldershot Bus Station with Denis Lolines and a Park Royal bodied London coach in attendance.

Alder Valley AEC Swift
I am sure the intention was good, but acquiring Southampton's two Strachan bodied AEC Swifts to help Alder Valley over its engineering crisis probably made the situation worse not better! Swifts 397/8 (MTR422/3F) were Southampton 4 & 5. They were acquired in July 1974 and 398, above, was sold to Rees & Williams of Tycroes two years later, though what happened to 397, sold at the same time, is unknown. The view is in Aldershot depot in familiar circumstances.
