The Routemaster fleet would have rubbed shoulders with this 1980 vintage Leyland Atlantean
AN68 86 seat East Lancs bodied example. 337 (AHG337V) was still in service in 2003 when
it made the long treck to Eastbourne to support the local fellow municipal operator
celebrating its centenary and to promote the northern holiday resort.

A newer Atlantean is preserved Northern Counties bodied 443 (HIL9543).

Along with "Deregulation Routemasters" Blackpool also went with the classy Optare City Pacer
as its contribution to the minibus revolution. 575 (F575RCW) is seen preserved at the 2001 Southsea
Spectacular.

The City Pacers were followed by Optare Deltas and then some of the first Excels.
The buses did not last long in the fleet and returned to Optare, where this one is seen
receiving attention at the Hellaby premises in August 1998. They waited some time to find
new owners.

When the time came for new doubledeckers Blackpool turned to Dennis and took examples
with East Lancs' Mylennium Lolyne bodywork. 309 (PJ02PYT) is seen in the green version
of Blackpool's Metro Coastlines livery at Cardiff where it had journeyed to celebrate that
municipality's centenary in July 2002.
