With many bus companies involved in the operation of trains these days, the government is being
persuaded to renew franchises when train/bus connecting services are offered. With Virgin Trains half
owned by Stagecoach, a connecting service from Milton Keynes to Luton Airport has been started,
using Berkhof bodied Volvos released from the Oxford Tube by the new double deck
MANs. The service is operated
by Stagecoach United Counties, Stagecoach having a substantial holding in Virgin Trains. The coach is
at Luton Airport.

Stagecoach Midland Red South operate more ex Tube Berkhofs on rail head connections linking towns
without main line connections to the main North - South rail network. 4829VC is seen at Millennium
Showbus.

Airlinks operates the Plaxton Cheetah bodied Mercedes Vario, W209WAP, on behalf of Virgin Trains, linking Watford
Junction with Heathrow Airport. It is seen at Heathrow.

A different sort of service operated by Airlinks on behalf of Virgin is a crew transfer facility between
Heathrow and Gatwick. DAF SB2000 / Van Hool D533 (Y322HUA) waits by the Queens Building
at Heathrow with lettering promoting the Virgin flights between London and Delhi.
