South Wales AEC Regent V Roe 38
AEC Regent V single decker 38 (282 DWN) is the only survivor of eight such buses specially designed to pass under bridges with clearances as low as 9 feet in the New Dock area of Llanelli. A conventional underfloor engines singledecker could not go that low, so Roe built a specially-designed low height single deck body, on to AEC Regent V chassis. The bus was seen at the 2013 Barry Island Rally.

South Wales AEC Regent V Roe 38
The unique bus made the journey across the Severn for the 2015 Bristol Bus Rally. Unsurprisingly it is capable of an impressive turn of speed but can give a hard ride over poor road surfaces. The initial two, 33/34 (TCY101/2) were purchased in 1959 and joined by six more, 35-40 (279-284 DWN) in 1963.
