Before entry into service in the Midlands a batch of new Mercedes Citaros were drafted into London Olympics operations. Unlike most contracted buses, including around one thousand Stagecoach vehicles, their blinds were not blank, but displayed the message "on hire to LOCOG". Strictly speaking the buses were new to Arriva's TGM subsidiary who were contracted by LOCOG and many TGM coaches were also on Olympic shuttle work. This Citaro became 3002 (BJ12YPL) with Midlands but is seen here racing along the Olympics lane on the A12.
