This ECW bodied Leyland Olympian is a testimony to NBC days and the self-aggrandisement inclination in the latter days of the PTAs. NBC had forced a merger between West Riding and neighbouring Yorkshire Woollen District so this coach bodied Olympian carries both fleetnames and West Riding green has been foresaken for NBC red. On top of that West Yorkshire PTA was flexing its muscles and insisting all services in its area bore its Metrobus fleetname. Seen in Leeds Bus Station in the mid eighties 563 (A563KWY) also bears the interlinked logos of NBC and WY Metro.

West Riding Leyland Olympian ECW 581
West Yorkshire was not content with logos, in due course all buses had to be painted verona green and cream, like Olympian/ECW 581 (A581NTX).

Roundabout Leyland Olympians
Earlier Olympian 543 (EWW543Y) was seen in its next life with Kent based Roundabout Buses. Joined by similar former National Welsh HR8209, it is seen at the 2003 Cobham Bus Rally.

APT Daimler Fleetline Alexander
This former Alexander bodied Daimler Fleetline was 672 (WHL274J) strayed a little further than Kent. It had made its way Down Under to the renowned Australian Pacific Tours fleet (now APT) and is seen in 1989 on Melbourne city tour duties outside Flinders Street Station. It began its antipodean career in south west Australia with Loves of Albany, but also spent a spell working in Perth.

Alder Valley Alexander T-type
Transferred from Yorkshire Traction to Alder Valley in NBC days was this Alexander T-type bodied Leyland Leopard 1165 (LHL250P). The Leopard was joined at Reading by LHL246P, both arrived in 1982. When new, the batch of seven Tracky vehicles was intended for West Riding. The bus seen here is leaving Aylesbury Bus Station bound for Milton Keynes on the long distance United Counties joint express X15 route from Reading.
