SHOWBUS 2016

SHOWBUS is moving to Donington Park for 2016

Our venue is Donington Park, the first permanent Park Circuit in the UK and home to the largest showcase of Grand Prix racing cars in the world. SHOWBUS visitors will get half price admission to the F1 and Wheatcroft military collections on proof of entry.
Sadly the popular Sunday market has recently closed down.
The venue is not the race track itself but an adjacent purpose built site owned by the Park and immediately to its west.
The site boasts over 42 000 square metres of tarmac and separate entrances for cars and exhibitors which should overcome the shortcomings of the nonetheless beautiful setting of last year's Woburn Abbey display.
In conjunction with Bartons PLC SHOWBUS 2016 will include the Barton Fleet Review. Between 0800 and 1100 the Chilwell premises of Bartons will be open for vistors to see the nine former Barton buses kept there, those able to be driven to Donington will join the display for the afternoon. Please note there is no public prking at Chilwell. An area is being reserved for spectators. Around 20 former Barton buses are involved. Showbus entrants can stop off at Chilwell in the morning to view the display. With redevelopment of the site pending this will probably be the last time to see the former Barton HQ.
Coach operators will be able to combine a visit to Showbus with the nearby shopping centres and attractions of Nottingham, Leicester or Derby.
Building on the success of last year's new format brochure a similar brochure, with more pages will be available for 2016. Feature articles will include a brief history of Barton Transport, travels by Megabus and the story of Crusader Holidays. All entrants will receive a free limited edition version, but for those buying the standard edition it will have a lucky number linked to some exclusive prizes including a uniquw Jotus model bus made for SHOWBUS 2016 and copies of the OMSI2 virtual bus driving software.
In the Launch Pad Pavilion at the heart of the display the OMSI2 software will be demonstrated and visitors will have a chance to try it out. Not only will the London version, reviewed recently in BUSES magazine be available, but the new West of England version will be too.
Specially for children we expect up to ten playbuses from the National Playbus Association will be on display with their facilities available for use.
Special displays this year are expected to include the biggest gathering of Ailsa buses for some time and special displays from local museums. Scanias will also be gathered to mark the company's 125th anniversary.
