TTC SHOWBUS International 2012

Special information for entrants...

September 6th. All entries received by this date have been processed and joining details are in the post. If your bus is not on the Entry List, the Post Office has failed to deliver it to us, or if you emailed it, the Junk Filters trapped it.
If your entry papers do not arrive in the post CLICK HERE after Sunday 9th to download the necessary paperwork.

JUBILEE RUN
Those wishing to drop passengers at Duxford before going to Royston should enter the Museum in the normal way. If time is tight speak to Martin Isles at Parking Recaption for a quick passage through the Pay Booths. On return to Duxford just show the tickets you were issued with on the first run through. This replaces the "Bus Paid" passes suggested earlier.

JUDGING FORMS
Entries received after September 3rd will not receive judging forms. You can initiate a form at SHOWBUS Control or download one here and fill it out to bring with you. Having a form on its own is not enough to get judged. Our database needs to have you marked for judging. Your window display sheet will make it clear whether your bus has been entered for judging on the database.

INFORMATION FOR WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT SHOWBUS
Please note that those arriving after 11.45 will not be routed airside behind the Land Warfare Hall, the Pay Booths will be relocated just after the "Bus Gate" on the A505 and you will proceed into the site on the roadway with the Land Warfare Hall on your right. After 12.00 the booths will be manned by Museum staff, but not rally officials. You will need to find your own way, using the sitemap, to your parking bay. Call by SHOWBUS Control if you have difficulty doing this or do not have a display number.

A reminder about the conditions for trading at the Imperial War Museum. All stalls arriving on board buses will be sited on a section of the Stall airside strip this year see map. Your vehicle will have a display number between 90 and 99. If this has not happened, let us know immediately. The deadline for including you on the Museum's public liability insurance is Monday 10th September. Traders not insured through the Museum will not be allowed to trade.

The busiest time for arrivals is 10.30-11.30.
At this time we are parking buses at the rate of 4 a minute! We can cope with that with your co-operation.

Please help by following the pointers below:
  • Approaching from the west is easier, use this approach if possible on the A505 making a right turn into the rally field. This avoids any congestion associated with car traffic on the M11. Leaving in that direction is a good idea too, it is an easy run across to the A1(M).
  • If possible arriving between 10.30 and 11.30 should be avoided
  • Have your rally number displayed before arrival, nearside front
  • Do not block the entrance by posing for photographers
  • Late entries, entries without paperwork and significantly changed entries need to report to Parking Reception in the Motts Coach before the Pay Booths.
  • At Parking Reception you will receive a Welcome Pack. Only one per vehicle thank you. This will contain a discount voucher for Showbus 2012 merchandise - our AEC Centenary poster or commemorative mug.
  • Have the Pay Booth admissions form completed ready with payment at the pay booths, this speeds up the admission queues. The driver should have this to hand over - the forms will have been sent by post with your display number.
  • If the number of passengers on your bus means you do not need to hand over any money, get into the EXPRESS LANE, the third across.
  • When you park, the number on the ground should be positioned so that it is immediately below your cab window.
  • Once parked, visit Showbus Control with your 'Judging Sheet' and/or your letter to claim your Go-Ahead Rally Plaque.
  • Judging sheets should be handed in to Showbus Control (not Parking Reception!) as soon as possible. For entries received in the weeks before the event your Judging Sheet will be at SHOWBUS Control, but you must report to Control so that it gets passed to the judges. There are always "no shows" and judges do not have time to waste looking for buses that aren't there!
  • Please note that emails and land line phone calls from 9.00am on Friday 14th September will not be received by the team until after the event.

Deckers posed at Showbus in 1999.
