Showbus 80 was at Thorpe Park and back then there was always a competition for the best advert bus. Thamesdown exhibited two, both unsual ECW bodied Daimler Fleetlines. The centre bus is 195 (UMR195T). The bus on the left is Brighton Buses East Lancs bodied Leyland Atlantean 33 (YJK933V). |

In the eighties Thamesdown standardised on Dennis Dominators and bought several with Northern Counties bodywork, including 67 (B67BMR), seen here at the depot which adjoined the Bus Station.

Thamesdown acquired East Staffs District Council's Dennis Dominators which had East Lancs bodies. One is seen poking out of the depot as a Stagecoach Swindon Alexander ALX200 bodied Dennis Dart heads out on service.

Thamesdown adopted a trade name for its town routes of Dartline. Appropriately enough here is a line of Dartline Darts at the Corporation Street depot with SLF 152 (P152SMW) nearest the camera. |
Thamesdown is not adverse to purchasing vehicles secondhand - we like the ex East Staffs Dominator and others of their breed came later from London & Country. Even old Bournemouth Fleetlines have been acquired as school buses and appropriately kept yellow. Not branded as Dartline, a useful batch of step entrance Darts was acquired from Isle of Man Road Services as they reverted to doubledeck operations. This one is seen at Millennium Showbus.
