Two more DMS joined Red Rover around Easter 1983 and both are seen being prepared for service in Middle Garage. Receiving finishing touches to its bespoke advert was already numbered 155 (OJD228R), former DMS2228. The bus spent a short period of five years working out of Catford depot. Alongside was 156 (OJD233R) still showing London red. These were MCW bodied Leyland badged Fleetlines.

The occasion: a David Bowie concert at Milton Keynes Bowl. Tricentrol could not cope with the transportation requirements and called Red Rover's decker fleet to help ferry the huge crowds to and from the Railway Station. One of the two remaining ex Nottingham Renowns can be seen helping out behind 155 (OJD228R) an MCW bodied Gardner engined Leyland Fleetline, formerly DMS2228. |
