Red Rover's last true DMS did not come directly from London but was initially bought in ater a year in store at AEC in Southall by Platignum of Stevenage. They are not thought to be an operator and did nothing with the bus for a year and a half before it ended up in Aylesbury. Former DM22209 (OJD209R) became 162 and is seen here on rail replacement work at Wycombe Station.

The bus is seen next at Milton Keynes Bus Station on a gloomy afternoon working Sunday services along with one of the former South Yorkshire PTE MCW bodied Leyland Fleetline DMS lookalikes. The ex Nottingham AEC Renown, 127 (DAU358C), was probably being used for the late afternoon crew exchanges on the six buses working the city routes and possibly using the occasion for some driver training.

Another gloomy view with 162 this time on the 61 stand in Luton Bus Station. The company took on a number of former United Counties/Luton & District runs at deregulation, including SUnday and evening services on the long standing Aylesbury - Luton trunk service.
