Like several PTE operators post deregulation South Yorkshire found itself with too many buses. It had bought a batch 28 of DMS lookalike MCW bodied Leyland Fleetlines more or less to London specification in 1977. Red Rover snapped up three of them in a new livery with more cream. This one was 1515 (OKW515R), now Red Rover 166 and is seen on a lovely day taking a breather on Ivinghoe Beacon one Sunday as it made its way from Luton to Aylesbury on route 61.

You could not do this these day, but 166 is seen at Marylebone Station, literally on the platform. Turning the bus on the width of the platform was a bit of a challenge, you do not want to get that wrong! All the barriers and ticket machines these days probably make access for a doubledeck bus to the platforms impossible. However on this rail replacement day it made the job of ticket staff easier, they could easily check tickets as normal and direct customers to the bus rather than the train.
